Take a proven big mountain shape with a 112mm waist, change things up with a light Paulownia wood core and use some carbon laminates instead of fiberglass, and presto you've got a sub-1500 gram ripper you can realistically tour with all day long. There aren't too many options in this category, but the ZAG Bakan Skis are arguably among the finest. If you're looking to rip some backcountry pow lines this winter, the Bakan is the place to start.
