Offshore Snow Shapes
Cardiel 2027
Handmade directional-twin all-mountain board from Niseko, Japan. Short, mid-wide, traditional camber, a skateboard's feel on snow. Built with John Cardiel. Made to order by Offshore Snow Shapes. The Intention In 2018, Offshore set out to build a board with John Cardiel. Before skateboarding became his defining path, Cardiel rode professionally on snow in the early '90s. His skating became known for speed, energy and absolute commitment. The idea was to bring some of that character back onto a snowboard. Short, mid-wide and directional twin. Traditional camber for pop and drive. Zero taper for a balanced feel in either direction. Enough width for soft snow, with the edge, power and stability to let it run. Cardiel rode it and was stoked. That shape is now a mainstay of the Offshore range. How It Rides The Cardiel feels poppy, planted and alive. Traditional camber loads up off both ends, springing out of turns and off features with real energy. The short, mid-wide shape feels solid underfoot but still quick enough to slash, ollie and move around the mountain naturally. What stands out is the speed. The faster it goes, the more settled it feels. The edge stays strong and precise, the board remains composed underneath you, and it has a habit of making you wonder how much more it wants. Ride it switch. Slash a bank. Ollie everything in sight. Then open it up and let it run. The Rider For the skater at heart. The rider who looks at the mountain differently, spotting banks, transitions, hits and lines everywhere they go. Someone who wants pop, response and high performance, with a board they can trust when the speed comes up. Intermediate through expert. A directional twin with a skater's soul, and a collector's piece too. The Terrain Banks, cat tracks and side hits. Groomers to carve and pop off. Trees and stashes when the snow shows up. The Cardiel turns the whole resort into a skatepark.
