Mount Mansfield Ski Patrol is hitting its 90th anniversary this year! Founded way back in 1934, it's the oldest ski patrol organization in the U.S. It all started with some hardcore skiers from the Mount Mansfield Ski Club who realized they needed a crew to keep things safe as the slopes got more crowded. This was before Stowe was even a resort! In the early days, it was all volunteers using basic gear like toboggans and homemade splints. Over time, they invented better training and equipment. They were trailblazers, setting the standard for ski patrols everywhere. Now, the Mount Mansfield Ski Patrol is a mix of pros and volunteers, always ready for anything and keeping skiers safe on one of the raddest mountains on the East Coast. I’ve been skiing here for decades, so it was super fun to work together to create this new graphic. One morning, we met up at their patrol hut and snapped lots of pics of all their tools of the trade, including the legendary toboggan… had to put it on the base!
