The Flight "LONGSHADOW 2026

Some of my favorite moments on the mountain aren't while I'm skiing. It's when I stop in the trees late in the day to take it all in. I look uphill, and see the low sun pouring through the trunks casting these long shadows across the snow. Holly Lombardo painted exactly this moment, and every time I look at this ski it takes me right back to that spot. Holly Lombardo is a painter from New England. She's self-taught, works in acrylics, and paints with no constraints, just this relentless curiosity about how color and light interact in nature. Her paintings of forested scenes are known for capturing that specific moment when the late afternoon sun hits the spaces between trees. This is one of those skis where proximity completely changes what you see. Up close, it's abstract paint strokes, almost impressionist chaos. Step back and it snaps into a beautiful near-photographic scene. Fun fact: She’s worke d both as a research scientist in the biotechnology industry and as a middle and high school math/science teacher. She says, “I enjoy sharing my passions with my students and colleagues. Painting is not only a means of creative expression for me, but also a way to share the colors and textures of nature that I have always loved.” We made only 200 of these hand-signed and numbered Limited Edition skis printed on our lightweight all-mountain Flight ski. Built for exactly these kinds of days. Ski until the shadows go long.
